My dad gave me his 30 06 last year. I used this rifle to hunt my 1st kudu in 1996 and since then quite a few animals have fallen to this rifle. It is build on a K98 action by Musgrave South Africa. I have a sound suppressor fitted by Truvelo. Its got a Burris Black Diamond scope on and Cladwell 6 - 13" bipods on. A friend gave me 2 boxes of old Norma 180gr factory ammunition. The past Saturday I took the 6 inch gong out to 250 meters and had a bit of fun... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...G240b166FAAAAAAAAAAA I am now working up loads on 150gr Nosler Ballistic Tips. Am also looking for 150gr Nosler E - Tips. Anybody using E Tips ? I had the opportunity to sight in the scope at Tuvelo. The shooting tunnel is 70m long. I called the 2nd shot low. This is what the 180gr's gave me. Will be shooting with the Musgrave regularly from now on. Nice. I used to have a Musgrave K98 'Std'. They also made a 'Deluxe' and a 'light'. I had mine glass bedded/floated, barrel cut back to 22" and installed a Timney trigger and parker Hale 45deg safety myslef. It was a very accurate and reliable rifle that took quite a few head. Wish I still had it! | |||
