Found a old western field mauser for sale, good shape, caliber unknown, looked 7mm size bore, side of action had berlin on it,i guess its a DWM action? No receiver crest.Would the date made be under the wood? What calibers & mauser actions did western field use on there sporters and what years where these rifles built? It was a pretty cool little rifle with iron sights only, never drilled for a scope.Any info appreciated. Thanks

Westernfield imported Mauser sporters in the 1960's that were built by various shops in Germany. Are there any markings at all on the barrel?

It's probably a Westernfield model 720. I owned one a while back. It was a FW heym built gun with an intermediate length mauser style action and lever release magazine. The bolt shroud looks just like an FN.
