Yesterday the temp was alittle lower than it has been so I decided to ride out to the range but, I had to load a few rounds prior to. I have two new Remingtons a Sendero in 300SAUM and a XR100 in 22-250 that have been under load developement for their past few trips to the range. I loaded enough rounds to shoot 3 3 shot groups w/ each rifle at 100 yards. Here are yesterdays results:

300 SAUM:

22-250:

Temp was around 90 and there was a slight breeze probably 5mph at times.

The 300SAUM Sendero I believe will be a shooter and I think the load w/ the WLR primers will be a good whitetail load. The spread was only 6 fps w/ the WLR primers and when I ran the Fed 215s through it w/ the same charge the avg velcoity jumped up 30 fps and the spread was much larger. Seems like the WLRs will be the ticket in this cart w/ this particular powder.

The 22-250 has shot well less than 1/2 moa w/ many different loads and is shooting 1/4 moa out at 200 w/ a couple of loads. The 52 AMAX has been accurate in it but, it looks as if I'm going to have to give the 55 BK another look as well. Ran out of Amaxes and loaded the BKs for a whirl.

You just gotta love it when all of your groups come in less than 1/2 moa on a range day.

On a interesting side note, the Sendero is jumping a good bit to hit the lands. I just loaded them to the clip length but, I can't hardly argue w/ the results. If I were just going to shoot targets w/ it, it may be golden right on the lands.

Not bad for a $650 and $599 rifle.

Remington still builds a good one.

Ya'll have a Good One

Good shooting,Reloader.I'm more of a Savage man,but I don't think that anyone can complain about Remington's or Savage's accuracy in their heavy barrel rifles.

True, the HBs in both seem to do well. I've had a little better luck w/ the Remingtons. So far I have 3 Remy HBs that will shoot well less than 1/2 MOA, the only three I've ever bought (knock on wood). Matter of fact, every 700 I've ever purchased would go 1/2" or better at 100. They tend to put out some good ones.

Good Luck

Glad you like your rifles.
I think remington makes real good rifles too ! But they just are not my style.
At a range last sunday I had a guy next to me shooting a laminated stocked varmint 700 in .223.
He was pissed, would not shoot worth a hoot.
I shot some graoups with my pre 64 featherweight 30,06, with 2 different loads.
The best 3 shot group at at 100 was .285 and the next best was .37. Those were 2 different 165 grain bullets and 2 different powders.
my point being most everyone makes a decent rifle. If you hand load it would be likly you should be able to get a load that shoots well.
buy the way I would love a model 7 CDL in .260 ...tj3006
