well i just had to share with you guys ,i treated myself to a new rifle.i needed to replace my 30/06's that i made the mistake of selling.I bought the Ruger M77 FTW Hunter rifle in 30/06 and am now just waiting for ruger to ship me some 30mm rings so i can top it off with a used but in new condition Leupold Euro-30 4-12x40. i'll let you all know how it shoots in a few weeks. | ||

Let us know how it goes. Is the stock laminate, with a sticker on the outside? I have made up my mind to get a 30-06 Guide gun, but am interested in hearing how yours goes. I wish you the best of luck, I have been watching reviews of that FTW rifle and it looks really good. | |||

it is a laminated stock that has been dipped in natural gear camo.the rifle weighs in at 7 pounds 11 ozs not 8.2 like there catalog says. the guide gun is also laminated , i have one in 416 ruger it does weigh in at 8.2 | |||

I like Ruger M77's a lot. Tang safety and newer ones and I have owned a ton of them over the years. These FTW, Guide and African are among my favorite. I sold a 9.3x62 I should have kept. It had some problems with the floor plate, and I should have sent it to Ruger, instead of selling it. | |||
