Just bought a remington cdl 7mm-08. Loaded 40 gr. AA 2460, with a 139 gr. hornady sst. Havent had time to shoot it yet. Anybody used this powder and bullet combo? And how did it perform? And what have you used? In this rifle.

I've used 40.5 and 41grs. of Varget with that bullet, it was very accurate in a model 7. You should have no problem as long as 2460 is close to Varget, RE15 and 4064. Jay

I haven't used your combo but I get great results with Varget 44.5 gr using Barnes 140TSX.
The most accurate (.230) is a 160 Gr Sierra and H4350 EXT 43.8 gr. A close second is 38.0 gr of IMR4895 with the 160.
My first choice for a hunting bullet is the BARNES 140 TSX.

Good Luck

Welcome Mike D., I just went today & treid some of the 139g SST's in my Rem.700 MTN rifle. I was pressed for time so I only got to shoot two loads. I was not using AA2460 though but, here is what I have seen so far.

34.1gr of IMR 4064 gave a velocity of 2169 & a 3 shot group of 1.116".
34.6gr of IMR 4064 gave a velocity of 2181 & a 3 shot group of .549".
It was slightly windy today at the range so I don't know what if any effect that had.
I have not done much testing with the SST or this rifle yet but, I do have Rem. 700 VLS in 7mm08 that I have more time testing with. I have not used the SST in it. All I have used is the 140gr Ballistic tip. If you would like to know what the results were with that rifle let me know.

40.5 grains of Varget and the 139 SST. 3 does and 1 pig, all one shot kills. One doe was 175 yards and she hit the ground and never moved.
