The Barnes TSX in 250 grains do their homework once more. Yestrday night I went to an already harvested corn field. Early at night I saw two does and a non trophy buck which I decided to pass waiting for a better one. One hour later they returned with two more deers, one of them was a nice one.

I made a misteke and I don't release completely the safety so I pull the trigger and nothing.. Mad the deer turn round and start running and I hit him in the back, in the following picture you can see the mess of the TSX bullet:

I fired a second shot and he was down.
Two hours later I saw something coming towards the tree I was climbed, a look carefully and I saw 16 wild boars walking toward me !!!!! shocker

I shot one and it was a mess...pigs running everywhere..I shot three more times and missed everything Roll Eyes but my hunting buddy Federico shot a small one with his 30-06.

We returned home 2 am, so I took the pictures this morning in his garage when we clean them, just before going to office Big Grin

Everyone has a favourite caliber but believe me, so far whatever I hit with the 9,3x62 went down, from foxes up to waterbuffalos....

A pity I was not able to recover any of the TSX bullets, all were pass through shots.

For shooting in herds the 9.3 is my favorite round, enough power for rear raking shots and soft enough recoil for quick follow ups. Hog huntings never been better!

Lorenzo -- they say the camera adds 20 pounds! Good job! Do you have any other pictures of the boar? How big was it?

I don't took any other picture of the pig, I was too much excited with my deer and pigs are a more normal thing for us than a good axis buck.

It was a sow, we estimated it was around 70 or 80 kilos not more...but who knows.. bewildered

There were aprox. 6 big sows in the bunch and the rest were medium size pigs...what we normally call barbacue size Big Grin

Next thursday I am going back and I will put a feeder under a big tree that is near the thorbush and that has several animal paths under it.

I will try to do it early so I can have enough time to prepare myself for the evening/night hunt.

Today I decided to start loosing weight but I imagine that the boiled axis with sweet potatoes I ate for lunch don't help much Big Grin

This is the kind of tissue damage you get with those ragged edges that work like buzz saws. However I have been told that's not a valid arguement on this very forum...I still believe it is valid.
