I was at a gun show in Cape Girardeau, Mo and saw one of the new Benelli 30-06 auto-loaders. When I picked it up I was amazed by it's light weight and handeling qualities as compasred to my Bar ! Has anyone actually seen or shot one of the new Bar's ? I wouild like your impression, what kind of price tage do they have ? The benelli was 1100.oo a little out of my range, perhaps the Browning will be a little less.

I sincerely hope I bon't start another war here but.I would go with the Browning,in 30-06 I like it in grade II,one fine looking rifle. The Benelli is a grate rifle but over priced."I THINK"? ![]()

I assume you're talking about one of the new BAR's with an aluminum receiver. No, I haven't seen one, much less shot one. But I think it is safe to say that if used as a big game rifle, which gets maybe twenty honest shots a year through it, the aluminum receiver would last several lifetimes. Like other aluminum receiver guns, the receiver is subject to cracking and faster wear, but I don't really think that is much of a factor in this case.
