I have four .270 WSM'S, two .358 STA's, and two 6.5 PRC's. Between myself, son, grandsons and great grandson we do a lot of shooting and hunting Deer and Elk. I load for all and furnish the rifles and enjoy every minute of the loading, hunting, and tales that go with it all. Good Shooting.

Mostly I try not to have two of the same with the exception of my collectable guns (mostly winchesters and Savage 99s)..and those that catch my eye for a certain reason...

Bottom line is do what blows your skirt up! Eeker

Multiple rifles in 270 and 06, such common rounds I seem to end up with them without trying. I also like both rounds, very effective and efficient, even if they're somewhat boring.

I have several calibers in more than one rifle.

In fact, my own designed and built hunting rifle, the 375/404, I have two which I take hunting to Africa every year.

Several of us use these.

Makes life very simple.

One load used in both for everything.

This year our group shot 22 buffalo, 2 lions, 1 leopard and many other assorted game animals.

Load is a 300 grain Walterhog bullet I make here myself loaded to around 2800 fps.

Lots of rifles. Mainly .223/5.56 and .308/7.62 NATO, 8x57, and .30-06.

Handguns- lots.

Shotguns- I only have 3 .410’s, the rest are more than that.

If you are a collector, you get lots of duplicates. In the US, anyone who wants to can collect, as we don’t have the limited license laws… yet.

I'm an absolute fool for a 28 gauge shotgun. I own at least five (one pump, one auto, two SxS, and one O/U combo with 20 & .410 bbls) which I've not taken the opportunity to shoot, seeing as how I'm not a clay shooter and mourning doves (my all time favorite game bird) have been scarce in my neck of the woods for the last several years.

You are kidding, right? I have no caliber, in just one rifle. If I ever find myself in that situation I will build another one or 3. I never take the same rifle afield more than once, and never take anything common like a 30-06; and would not use a 270 as a tent stake. This post is made solely to piss off the 270 lovers out there. Just to be clear, so I won't get any more hate mail; reached my limit this week from one guy alone.
Disclaimer; I do have only one 500 Nitro.

WAIT! Charlie; I just noticed your tag line; Up the ladder and down the snakes!
What in hell does that mean, and if it includes real slithering snakes, I don't want to know.
(Fortunately, I feel free to diverge from the original thread topic and post mindless drivel, without fear of retribution.) Again.

I have twins in several cartridges.
twins as in 2 Ruger MK-II 77's in 25-06.
2 Winchester 92's in 25-20
etc..
if your gonna have a backup they might as well share parts, scope pieces, and ammo in case they both break.

Working on my second rifle squad worth of M1 Garands. You're just minding your business buying one from the CMP to own a piece of history, next thing you know you've got one from each manufacturer, then a 6-digit SN, 6M serial number, M1D sniper modification, and a 5-digit rifle comes in your next order, you buy a 4-digit receiver off the forum, a 3-digit receiver pops up for sale a week later, and you need a second gun safe.
