I'm about to recieve the Remington M700 stainless 7 SAUM I bought. Just would like to know who all is shooting this round, and what you think of it. Any handloading advice would be much appreciated.

I threw together a few rounds today to break-in the barrel. An assortment of 150 gr. Nosler Solid Base BT's, 160 gr. Speer BT's, and 160 gr. Speer SP's over WXR. Shoot/clean/shoot/clean, etc for the first five rounds, then I fired four in a row, cleaned, then fired my last five shots. My 13 shot group at 100 yards was 1.78" for the assortment of loads. Staight outta tha' box!

I would say Remington has a problem child that nobody wants to play with.

A friend of mine bought the SS synthetic model 7 last fall. I glass bedded it for him and worked up some loads for deer season. Very nice handling little rifle and it shoots very well. I already have a 7-08,7x57, several 280s and a couple 7mm mags or I would be looking at one.

I've loaded some 175 gr. SP's & 162 gr. SST's over 7828, and am averaging MOA, with 2810 & 2900 fps respectively. Convert to WSM? Yeah right! The reason I picked the 700 is that the SAUM is a superior design IMO. Never would I rechamber, not worth the 75 fps.
