I'm looking for a new load combination for the 9.3x62 barrel of my Sauer Hatari rifle.

Should be a soft and a solid. Both the same weight, between 286 and 320 grains.

Must be factory loads as I don't load by myself.

The Swift A-Frame and the Barnes banded solid (both 300 grains Norma loads) work fine in my .375.
But I could not find this combination for the 9.3x62 so far Confused

Any suggestions?

Does anyone know where all available factory loads in 9.3x62 can be found in the internet?

Thanks.

rgds,
Andy

Midway always has the biggest selection. I believe only A-Square loads solids. You can order directly from them.

Now that's going to be tough.
Possibly a USA custom provider or possibly from South Africa?

Superior Ammunition will load just about any combination you want. Sturgis, South Dakota . Larry is the owner.

Andy

I know it might be hard for you to get but Superior ammo is very good stuff.

I do not think Norma or RWS currently load a solid in 9,3x62.

I like the Lapua 286 grain soft but I have no experience with solids in that caliber.

PRVI is south of you a couple hundred kilometers. They offer several 9,3x62 loads. I really like their 286gr SPs.

Swift A-Frame and Barnes banded solid in 9,3mm of same weight - you’ll have to use their 250gr bullets; none lighter and for heavier bullets Swift does a 300gr and Barnes does a 286gr so no joy there.

Edit: I don’t know if they’re available in Germany, but North Fork Technologies make three models of 286gr bullets in 9,3mm; a bonded semi-spitzer, a cup point solid, and a flat nose solid. Lots of good words about their performance on game and point of impact is reportedly the same for all three bullets. Here's a link to their website:

just got the first sample swift 386grn A frames n friday. Norma want me to check them on buffalo later this month. Assuming they are as good as all the other swifts (and I see no reason to doubt it) a Norma combination of Woodleigh 286grn Solid and Sift A frame will be available by shot show.

About time one of the big manufactures produced factory solids for the 9.3x62.
Woodleigh solids combined with the Swift A Frames get my thumbs up. thumb

Andy,

Just a word of caution - don't get caught up trying to get 2 factory loads with the same weight bullet when I think what you really want is a factory SP and a solid that shoot to the same point-of-aim!!!

Ur at quite a disadvantge not reloading for the 9,3x62, but you still may find the 2 loads your seeking may not have the same weight bullet.

Mate I can make mistakes like that any time of the day. Big Grin
What powder did you use?
I've been using 65 grains of H4350 under Norma Alaska bullets and have been getting good two and a half inch groups with open sights.
Alaska are probably a bit soft for African use but are fine for deer.

These came factory loaded from Norma. I would gues Vimis powder as they are considering it for the African PH line and need the temperature stability.

Never tried the Alaskan, Vulcan soft point. All tool a bit too soft for African use. The Oryx is a great bullet for lion and eland but not really a buffalo bullet.

Hi Andy,

as you are living in southern Germany - why do you not contact Wolfgang Romey in Petershagen? He is making ammunition for the Britsh Nitro Express cartridges in both soft and solid and also some metrics like the 9,3x62 since more than 20 years.

regards
Robert

Hi

Popped an Email to Norma they replied that results so far is very good for the Swift bullet and there will be a solid bullet for the 9.3 x 62 next year, so it sounds very good

Stay away from the A-Square loaded ammo, it tends not to fit anything and seems always to be on the HIGH presure side of reality...I pulled all the bullets on everything I had, dumped the powder, resized the cases, then it worked fine.
