Which is your favorite of the 30 caliber magnums and what are the reasons for it being your favorite?

I have a 300 Ultra Mag; but would but a 300 Weatherby or 300 H&H if I did it again.

Garden variety Mdl 700 Classic in .300Win Mag. It's done everything I've asked. Which means it's killed elk, mulies, and antelope handily.
I shot a .338 for a while but couldn't see where it killed anything deader than the .300.

300wby, because I own it. I bought mine for one reason, I was commercial fishing in AK the captain said "There is no guarantee you will make any money. When I got back to the lower 48 I saw an add in the classified for this gun while in salt lake on the way back to NE. We met in a parking lot on the way up to the mountains, he was going rock climbing, I was going home to Ne. I bought it.

That's how I made my decision young with cash, and hey it was a 300 mag!

I love the gun, I will never sell it.

get what ever you want, you are surely to get more ballistic information than you will ever need or use.

My favorite 300 mag rifle is a 300 win mag that my friend owns. It's a plain Howa 1500 with a muzzle brake and some sort of camo skin on it (you can remove it) with a Leupold scope. He doesn't use it much, he usually bow hunts or uses his 270 BAR; but it's a neat rifle and dead accurate. And cheap.

Seems identical to mine.....and for the same reason.....plus it shoots 200 grain A-Frames into little groups.

One of my very favorite rifles is my 300H&H Ruger #1 with 3X9 Trijicon. With factory loads the H&H is a bit weak, just a touch over the 30-06. Handloads really bring out the potential in this great old cartridge however. Matched with 180gr TSX or TTSX and it get's the job done nicely and with class!

The 300 Weatherby - because I figured if I was gonna make the .308" magnum leap it was gonna be the one with glamour stamped all over it - IMO a great cartridge.

It works for me like some sort of magical terrminal power delivery system. Most game shot with it simply drop in their tracks at the shot.

With 165 gr. (Swift Scirocco II's) & 180 gr. (Barnes TTSX) bullets it has worked superbly for me on large(r) European Deer & African Antilopes.

Would a 300 Win. Mag., 300 H&H or 300 Norma have delivered the same results? Most likely; but I chose the 300 Witherbee and I'm pleased with that decision.

I have 2--- winchester 70's in 300 ultra mag and 300 H+H. The ultra mag has never been fired--- the H+H is my favorite!

A .300 Weatherby, cause it's like an old friend that you call on when you need help. It has never failed to hold it's end up.

I only own one rifle in .300 magnum and it is the H&H. I got it as a 1917 sporter. For $99+ tax from a local shop. I never felt the need for a magnum .30 Cal but couldn't resist this one. The only Dow. Side was it cost me about $700-800 more to finish the rifle but it was a fun journey.

Mine is a #1 Ruger in .300 Weatherby, killed two birds with one stone - like them both. --- John303.

Mine is an FN Deluxe Sporter, 300H&H, because of nostalgia, tradition, etc. and it performs well enough.

New Winchester Model 70 in .300 WM in Super grade or extreme weather.

I would take this over any pre-64 Model 70 in any caliber. I have tried several and the new ones, made by FN are superb.

I have had on accurized by Hill Country Rifles and I have bought one already tweaked by those guys. The rifles each shoot 1/2" with several factory ammo types and are perfect for me.

The 300 weatherby. I own three of them.

The only .300 magnum I've ever owned that I really like is a Sako L61R in .300 H&H. It came to me somewhat abused and neglected, but with only a small amount of remedial maintenance it proved to be inerrantly accurate (.75" with nearly anything) and although I don't push its velocities beyond the original 2950 fps or so with 180's, it will drive them significantly faster than that without strain.

Haven't taken anything with it but a whitetail and a hog, but it is sure to be my primary rifle on my next African trip.

Gotta be the Rem Sendero in 300RUM. Accurate and hits hard.

300 Win or 300 H&H. It's a toss up.

I shoot a Tikka in 300 WSM. Didn't have a 300 and I liked the Tikkas so found the 300 wizzum and have never looked back. My buddy is a big Weatherby fan and really wanted me to get a 300 WBY bit i didn't like the vanguards looks. It might have been different if the MOA was available then.

Ruger all weather in 300 Ruger Conpact Magnum.

My original .300 Winny is a post 64 Model 70 Winchester that has a see thru scope mount and 3 X 9 Redfield Widefield scope on it. It has never seen a gunsmiths hands, looks like the tool it is and will shoot one holers for me, my son and three grandson's. For me it has taken Brown Bear, many Elk and Deer and 14 Caribou. My son and grandsons still use it extensively. It will always be in my vault for use at a moments notice. Good shooting.

300 H&H cuz it's just such a cool round especially when loading my own.

30-378 Weatherby. I own 4 of them and used one in Africa for a number of plains game animals. A 180gr Swift A-Frame or TSX running 3400fps at the muzzle is just awesome on impact at about any distance.

Got two 30-338mag been a good caliber for me.

I have had several, but right now I don't have any.

30-06s and .338s, 9.3x, and 358s yep got plenty of those.

More distance means a 25-06 or 6.5.

More power means a .338, .364, .375 or .358.

My favorite and the one I own is a Browning X-Bolt stainless stalker 300 Win MAG. It is very accurate and a pleasure to shoot. It is a hard hitter for deer and hopefully for elk as well (2 deer but not elk to date). I hand load 200 grain accubonds and 180 grain protected point partitions. It is a great caliber for larger game.

I have a M98 in .300 H&H. Fine round indeed. 200grain Nosler AB at 900 m/sec I can not ask for any better.

300 Win Mag, accurate fun to shoot, brass easy to find as I have friends that shoot it and don't reload.

I don't have a favorite 300 Mag. I own a RUM and it is worthless, unless you want to put the hurt on something a half mile away.;-)

Can't say I have a favorite 300 mag but I do own a Rem 700 in 300WM it was a good buy.

I have only owned the .300 Win mag and with 200 grain bullets it shot very well and very flat.

I always admired the the .300 Weatherby ballistics.

30-06 hands down. It does all the others do without as much blast, recoil and powder.
