Does anyone know who got Dakota Arms, or any news from Dakota?

Cerberus couldn't sell freedom (the gun part) so they ran remington into the ground and got out from under the law suit to boot. The profitable parts were bought out by Ruger.. etc.

So Cerbersu did get rid of Freedom division.

Rem probably won't make AR's in NY. Bushmaster is gone (trademark was bought?)

Dakota was bought by someone called Roundhill Group LLC.

The same ones who bought Remington plant in Iion and barrel making plant in TN.

Let's hope Remington brings out the new and improved 700 design with dual ejectors and a Seiko style extractor especially their custom shop dangerous game rifle!

Sako extractor.......

Ill bet you Remington 700_extractors have extracted 10000 more rounds than sakos!

And if you have an over pressure you don't end up hurting yourself or others because Remington extractors stay where they belong.

Agreed! I think the Sako extractor is a good one for when you have to open or bush the bolt face for a different sized cartridge, and I've used it, but the closed face of the Remington extractor, which works great, is safer. I hope they don't change it. This is particularly important for left handers shooting right hand rifles. The Sako and even the M16 style extractors blow out the ejection port in an overpressure event. The Sako extractor isn't super dangerous (after all it's used in the Sako and Tikka with the same window out the ejection port), but I prefer the Remington design.

I would be happy if they returned to 60's quality. The last 870 I saw had more plastic parts than metal ones (joking... but just.)
