I am looking to buy a 243 rifle. I am leaning toward the WSSM. Any thoughts or suggestions. I don't like the thought of the 4000 fps speed of the 55grainers, it is my understanding that if you break the 4000fps the barrel life is very short. I would like a 6mm bench rest but it isn't made in a factory rifle and I don't want to have one built. It just cost to much for what the rifle is going to be used for. Thank you for your thoughts and time.

The 243WSSM is not a plinker, no matter if you use light or heavy bullets. It's unique place in the world is in long range work with heavy bullets.

If you want a multi purpose 6mm rifle, buy a used gun, and put a 6br match barrel on it. You'd be miles (and inches and dollars) ahead. JMO, Dutch.
