I am looking to buy a 243 rifle. I am leaning toward the WSSM. Any thoughts or suggestions. I don't like the thought of the 4000 fps speed of the 55grainers, it is my understanding that if you break the 4000fps the barrel life is very short. I would like a 6mm bench rest but it isn't made in a factory rifle and I don't want to have one built. It just cost to much for what the rifle is going to be used for. The 243WSSM is not a plinker, no matter if you use light or heavy bullets. It's unique place in the world is in long range work with heavy bullets.

If you want a multi purpose 6mm rifle, buy a used gun, and put a 6br match barrel on it. You'd be miles (and inches and dollars) ahead. JMO, Dutch.

try the cooper in 6ppc. it is a sick shooting machine.....
