Where are these "better" Partitions? I just could find 39 pieces in .338 cal. 250grs from Danmark.

Nosler quit producing the partition gold several years ago. Nosler did however began placing the standard partition in certain calibers (416 458) further forward.

The partition "wall" in the partition gold bullets is a little further forward than the regular partitions. They are great bullets, just like the regular ones.

I hoarded a couple of thousand .308, 150gr golds, when they stopped making them, for less than half price because both Midway and Nosler were trying to get rid of existing inventory. They are my go to bullet in all my .308s I use for hunting for many years now. Absolutely awesome bullet. George

M-F, If you lived in the US, I could make you a deal on a few hundred of the 338 PG bullets. Like Cazador, I bought a bunch on closeout but I don't use a 338 much anymore. ______________________________ "Truth is the daughter of time." Francis Bacon

I think Winchester was loading these.I had some factory ammo and they were molly coated from the factory. My 300Win,Rem Sendero hated them and sprayed them all over a foot apart at ranges as close as 25yds.I never seen anything like it.The necks were splitting too.I thought there might be something wrong with my rifle so I rushed to the sports store and picked up some core-locs-which I knew shot well in my rifle.I went straight back to the range and the core-locs shot one hole groups at 100yds.

I believe that the rear core also had a steel cup insert added to prevent bulging. I bought 20 boxes of the 338 250 moly for $4.99 a box. They have shot well for me.

Any partition is a good bullet. I like the newer forward partition in the .416 Rem. I don't know what other calibers the forward partition comes in but I would only opt for a forward partition for big dangerous game like Africa has to offer, I think they would be a little bit too tough for Brown Bear and moose, more suitable for Cape Buffalo where they really shine, love them for Buff.. Recently acquired a 416 Rigby. Was going to use the 400 nosler partition for brown bear this spring because it shoots so well with that bullet at just over 2500. Sub 1 inch groups off the bench @ 100 yds. Around 1.25 to 1.5 off standing rest. I tried other loads with other bullets but not quite as accurate. You now have me wondering if I should reconsider.

AKHUTR, I, didn't mean to over state the 400 gr Nosler,I wouldn't hesitate to use the new 400 gr. Nosler on the big bears of Alaska.. They have the penetration needed and but any Nosler will open up the forward portion quickly enough to use on Brown Bear. With a .416, your not going to be disappointed shooting anything. Its a great caliber, I have used it with the Nosler 400 gr. bullet on everything form Impala to Cape Buffalo, Hippo and Eland..The deer size stuff runs a good ways as a rule due to lack of expansion with any 416 bullet as they are designed to do so, but leaves a good blood trail.. For Alaskan Brown Bear, you will be pleased with any 400 gr. bullet made today or even the 350 gr. on Bear, and the 350 is a flat shooting hog of a bullet. Use premium bullets of any kind.
