While someone else on here was posting something screwy in the new Remington Catalog, showing a Model 70 in one of the pictures...


The thing that caught my eye, was the Remington 300 Ultra Mag is being loaded with the capabilities of 3 different 30 caliber power levels...

I think this is an excellent marketing idea, by Remington.. for those that don't handload, you can purchase factory ammo that falls into one of three levels...

The first is loaded to equate to the equal of the 30/06, using 150 grain bullets...

The next has the velocity and uses bullets in the 180 grain range, to equal 300 Win Mag and 300 WSM velocities...

The final of course is full 300 Ultra Mag loads...

Although I am a handloader, I think this is really a good marketing idea for those that don't handload...

This is a very logical step after their introduction of Managed Recoil loads in several calibers...

I applaud Remington for using their heads on this one.. It may not be a marketing revolution, but I think it will end up helping the sales of the longer, and larger UltraMag chamberings.....
