I just ordered a 338-06 and orginally I intended on loading it with 225 Nolser accubonds. I just came across a deal on some 210 paratitions. I was wondering if anyone has had any experence with these bullets. I dont shoot over 300 yards; and it will be used for black bear, caribou, moose, and interior grizz. Any info would be great

Welcome to the forum! I haven't used them on game yet but the 210 Partition has an outstanding reputation on all the game you listed. I have a 338 Federal and tested some in phone books at 2650 FP. It did what partitions do, blew the from core for a large wound channel and penetrated with the rear core. Weight retention was 153 grains. I tested several other bullets as well. Will the 210 Partition do anything a 225 grain bonded core bullet won't do? Probably not. Either bullet is going to put some serious hurt on the game animals you mentioned. Which bullet is the best for you is largely going to depend on your particular rifle. My 338-06 has a marked accuracy preference for 225 grain bullets (loves 'em) over 210 grain bullets (hates 'em) so I just shoot 225 grain bullets and I doubt it's going to make bit of difference in my ultimate hunting success or failure. ______________________________ "Truth is the daughter of time." Woodelf, I lived out in Dillingham on Bristol Bay for over 20 years and a 338 was my primary rifle for several years. I shot several different bullets in the 338 but the 210 NP was always my go to projectile. I shot deer, caribou, moose and sheep with it. I now own a 338-06 and I'm loading the 210 NP again. It works as well on mule and whitetai deer plus antelope as it did in Alaska. It just makes a bigger hole in game than a 30 caliber. My expereince is you'll get many DRT shots with 210 NP. I've been hunting w/ my 338-06 now for some 14yrs. Everything that has fallen to my 338-06 has been w/ the 210grNP. It seems made for the vel window of the 338-06 @ 2700-2800fps. It expands perfectly & penetrates very well. I have only recovered one bullet form anything I have shot, from deer to elk to zebra & kudu. It happens to be extremely accurate in my rifle as well. It is my goto bullet @ 2750fps. Bullet on left is wetpack, on right is recovered from a 600# kudu bull (the only reason is it was a frontal shot). Both recovered wts around 166gr. I used 210 gr partitions on the one elk I shot with my 338-06 and would certainly use them again. steve nelson

I have both a .338-06 and a wildcat .339WSM (don't ask). Both love the 210gr NP. Went to Namibia on a plains game hunt with the .338WSM last year and it worked wonderfully. Have used the .338-06 on elk with the same success. .395 Family Member DRSS, po' boy member Political correctness is nothing but liberal enforced censorship

That bullet will do anything you need it to. I prefer the 210gr TSX out of my 338-06's. But if the NP was the only bullet available, I would use it and not lose any sleep over it. It works!

I used the 225 partition on the first game taken with my 338-06. Dropped caribou at 230 yards and a big yukon moose at 150 both dead in their track! Found the moose bullet on the off side skin in a perfect mushroom. Having said that my go to bullet is now the 210 TTSX. Have taken several African game up to zebra/sable with this bullet and it shoots 1/2" holes with this rifle.

For me I chose the 225gr Accubonds and TTSX's for my 338-06AI. I wanted to shoot the larger bullets with this rifle. My decision was if I was going to shoot 200-210gr then I'd would of just loaded up 200gr in my 300WM. My 338-06AI shoots both (AB's & TTSX's)very accurately. My first preference is the Accubond as I love the performance of this bullet out of my 300WM and 270WSM on the range and on big game. HAve fun !! Should be nothing wrong with a 210 NP or TTSX or Swift Scirocco's.

I had thought there was a written law somewhere that required all 338-06 rifles to use 210 Noslers for all broad brushed applications to include elk and to use 250 grain bullets with .300+ sectional density for upper end big and dangerous game. Somehow I thought there was a 338-06 police force that would execute a search warrant upon your gun safe and would confiscate your 338-06 if you went outside these hard rules. Could be wrong on that, but I'd doubt you could ever go wrong if you decided to follow such rule. In fact, I think you'd experience outstanding results if you followed such rule and you might even receive a merit award from the 338-06 police. Best

I've been shooting the .338-06 for over 30 years, and i've taken moose, brown bears, caribou and many other animals with it. For me, i liked the added penetration the 250NP's give, on the biggest game over the 210NP's. For rib shots no problem, but on big bears, i don't like rib shots, and i hunted big bears a lot, sometimes needing to clean up someone elses mess, so i quit using 210's. Anyway, i guess it's all in how you hunt, but my .338-06 gets 275 speers, or 250NP's when i'm carrying it in dangerous game country. DM
