Hey guys/gals, I am wanting to build a .280 A.I. & was wondering what would be the optimum twist rate? I will likely for the most part be loading 140gr. bullets. Thanx. I hope that this doesn't come as a surprise but AIing the 280 will likely not get you more than 100 fps given ths same barrel length and comperable pressure. And unless you plan to use a slow powder that would not max out performance unless you could fit an additional grain or two into the case, it won't make any difference at all. So a twist rate of a standard 280, somewhere in the rage of 9 to 10, will be just fine. | |||
