AzCondor300 Win Mag-180 gr accubonds-IMR4831
Does anyone have a really good load for this bullet and powder combination? Oh and I am using Fed215M primers and shooting these out of a savage 116fhsak
Thanks
Connor

StonecreekIn my experience IMR 4831 is a tad on the fast side for optimum velocity with this weight bullet in this cartridge. That's not to say you can't come up with a pretty good load, just that your top velocity is going to be a bit shy of what you could achieve with a somewhat slower powder.
I use RL-25 for this bullet and cartridge, but RL-22 and IMR-7828 also do well. Even H-4831 is somewhat slower than the IMR version and would be a bit better choice.

AzCondorOk sounds good I guess I will switch to a slower burning powder. I went to that website though and they do not have any data on 180 gr. accubonds. Does anyone have a lights out load for the this bullet?
Thanks
Connor

TEANCUMOur family has shot 300 Win Mags with 180 grain Nosler BT's and the Accubonds using H4831. The most common load is 77.5 grains of H4831 for great accuracy and performance in the field on long range deer and elk.

BucksterAnother strong vote for H4831 with 180 grain pills. 75 grains, or thereabouts, has worked in every .300 WM I've ever had.
This powder is very temperature insensitive which may be important if you want the same point of impact in different climes. I've found RL-22 to be a little finicky in very low temps.

AzCondorthansk for all the replies, I am going to first try using up the rest of my imr4831 at 69 grains and see how that goes and next I will try some of these other loads when I buy powder again. I have until october to get my coues load down

Mighty PeaceMy 300WM loads with 180gr Accubonds is with RL22 74.0gr with Federal 215 Mag Primers. My buddy's rifle uses 75.0gr for most accurate loads.
Never tried any other powder. Too good of performance and accuracy for me with RL22 to experiment.
