| Gumboot You can make 9.3x64 brass out of 338 or 458 brass. It is a little work but it can be done as follows: 1/chuck new brass in a small lathe and turn off the belt and 2/ rebate the rim slightly. (I don't have the exact dimensions with me). 3/recut the extractor groove using a 9.3x64 shellholder as your "Go" gauge. 4/ adjust your FL size die so the case can be chambered with a small amount of resistance in the the final few degrees of closing your bolt. Load and fireform. I have found Win brand cases will produce 9.3x64 cases of the same volume as RWS brass anduse the same loads . Hope that helps. I believe Buffalo Arms supplies cases for hard to find calibres and offers 9.3x64 brass made from American brass. Hope this helps. |

| I was trying to find a way to make 9.3x64 brass from another case. A friend of mine has a book that list numerous brass conversions. The 9.3x64 can be made out of 45 Basic 2 1/2" brass by turning down the rim and cutting a new extractor groove then forming in a 9.3x64 FL resizing die. I tried this with a piece of 45-120 sharps brass cut to 2 1/2" and it worked out well. The brass formed perfect in the 9.3x64 FL resizing die. I do not yet have a 9.3x64 rifle to try the brass in, but plan on building one soon. The draw back to this conversion is you need a lathe or know someone who will turn the brass for you.

| gumboot - I dunno about making your cases out another type but have you tried Huntington Die Specialties? I understand they have lots of different types of brass & maybe they'd have yours. Prolly kinda expensive but....... Justa thought. Bear in Fairbanks

| I haven't had a 9.3x64 rifle for several years, but I should still have dies, as well as factory RWS cartridges, brass and TUG bullets. If somebody needs the whole lot, shoot me a PM. |

| The information I have, is that RWS is no longer exporting brass, only loaded ammunition.
I special ordered some RWS 9.3 x 64 Brenneke ammo last May and it still has not arrived. Fiocchi is the importer. It got messed up in customs by them piggy backing it on with their ammunition somehow. Who knows if, and when it will show up.
Hoernberger? sp makes brass but it is about $5 per individual piece of brass by the time all the fees are added up.
You can make brass, but you need access to a lathe.
I talked with Jamison, the company in Sturgis that makes brass. Checked on a doing a special run, but they weren't too interested. It would also have to be a 10,000 piece minimum.
How tough would it be for a European AR member to send some over? Can you easily do small amounts without a huge customs hassle?
What about any Canadian members? Is that brass available up there? |

| SD Hunter Go back to the advice Trax offered near the top of this tread. Ralf Martini from Cranbrook BC imports RWS brass and he usually has some in stock in the common metric calibres like 9.3x64 & 62,8x68 etc.Read the ad ,Ralf will ship to the US. |

| Could be worth an enquiry to see if QualityCartridge would be interested in doing a run of 9,3x64B brass. |
