as a low priced SS 7-08 about the same weight and price as a Tikka T3 lite stainless in 7-08 and with both featureing a detachable magazine with both having a bare weight of 6.5 pounds or so and both with a 1-9.5 barrel. I was thinking of also adding a Harris bi-pod to the thing and the low cost Conquest 3 x 9 with a rapid Z reticle. A 260 does not seem to be as possible these days, but 139's out of the 7-08 are not too bad and the entire rig would be less than 9 pounds with the bi-pod. The bi-pod I am not sure of, as I have never owned one, just shot off a pack or something. The attractiveness of both is medium weight, and lower cost as cost has become a factor this year!

The Savage Custom shop will do you a .260 Rem with a 1 in 8 twist. The cost is a little over $700.

I think the Accustock guns are 8 oz or so heavier.
