I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this, but a friend asked me, so I'll throw it out here. Is the model 7 stock the same as a short action 700? He has a youth model 7 for his son (7mm-08), who is getting grown up now and needs a full size stock on it. He is wanting to order one but is having trouble finding what he wants.

Any suggestions to a decent synthetic stock? He says all he can find are the cheap ones that are flimsy.

Thanks Jim. Out of curiosity, what is different about them?

The Model 7 is a wee bit shorter than the short action 700 and the stock is proportionately shorter, it gives a more balanced appearance and the overall package is very nice to handle. The Model 7 and the 7mm-08 seem to go together. tu2
