I imagine it must be like an 8mm-06, only difference being the brass would be much harder to find! 8mm-06 is a great wildcat, the only one I know of locally does "well over" 2600fps with 195gr bullets. Will ask the owner for more details. ________ "...And on the 8th day, God created beer so those crazy Canadians wouldn't take over the world..."

Its identical in performance to the 8mm rem mag. Those that have them love them. Historicaly thier only real problem has been to find bullets rhat would hold together at higher velocity (300 win mag velocity) when 8mm bullets were made for 8x60 ( 30 06 type velocity). I believe this problem is over. If you ever see a good second hand one for sale in Africa, it wont be for more than a day. boet

+1 Not much difference between the 8x64 and the stouter 8x60 ('Magnum Bombe') loads and the 8mm-06. A friend used have am 8x64 but not much ammo/components. I am sure with 196gr - 220gr it would be serious medicine for most antelope hunting, just liek the 8x60.
