Just got my first sako ever. Its the 75 deluxe and it came with the hinge plate. I hate that thing! does sako make a detacheable magazine kit or one like browning's that I can swap with?
need input from you sako experts.

You might be a little more forthcoming in what it is that you dislike about the Sako hinged floorplate. It is pretty much the same as that on the Rem 700, FN Mauser, Win 70, etc., etc. Is it defective in some way or do you just prefer a detachable (and misplaceable) magazine?

Sako offers the 75 with a detachable magazine. If you wanted to convert yours, and don't care too much about what it costs, I assume you could buy the complete set of bottom metal from Accuflite or some other supplier.

Since your gun is virtually new, it would likely be cheaper to just trade it for the detachable magazine model.

I am so use to browning's magazine (ez loading & unloading). I don't want to trade in since this one has nice wood and I got it for a reasonable good price (ordered from out of state). I waited 3 months for it. I couldn't find any shop near me that was willing to sell for me at that price. 1400.00 out of the door including shipping & insurance. The MRS. is a little upset about me getting another rifle so if I'm gonna have to shell out 3 or 4 bills than I can just forget about it! LOL but thanks for the input Stonecreek!

Is it an Ultra-Mag? They are the only 75's I've seen with a hinged floorplate. I actually prefer them to the magazine but what do I know?.......DJ

Interesting. I've never seen a Sako WSM with a floorplate, maybe your just lucky. My Finnlite 300WSM really liked Magpro and 180gr Failsafes. Good luck with yours......DJ

I actually hate the browning magazine system because it is needlessly complicated and slow to load and unload compared to other detatchable mags.By combining a detachable magazine and floorplate you end up with the disadvantages of both but the advantages of neither.

The detachable mag system on the 75 is the best I've seen, better than Browning in my opinion. I've got a couple of 75's, both with detachable mags. I hope you can get it converted cause I know you'll like it better.
