Can European model CZ rifles be imported the U.S somehow? For instance, can one buy a European model from a European dealer and have it shipped over here to an American dealer? At what cost and through what red tape might one have to endure? There are a couple of European models/caliber offerings that I might really like. CZ-USA won't import them. Matt FISH!! why not check with the importer ? maybe they could special order one for you - i would think that would be the least expensive way. offer to prepay it in full so they have no cancellation risk. or new england custom gun - they can get it in as can any gun importer. it will just cost you about $250 for handling it and the u s taxes that apply. Matt, This page: http://www.gunbroker.com/Support/SupportFAQView.asp?faqid=1110 has some information regarding importing a firearm. Basically an FFL must apply to BATF for an import permit on your behalf. I doubt that side of things would be a big issue. Quite another matter is availability and (in particular) price of firearms abroad. Most countries (including the US) require a certain amount of paper work to legally export a firearm. You may find a dealer abroad who'd be willing to help you with this side of things. Regulations will vary from country to country. Be aware, that there are few countries in the world, where firearms are as easily available and at such low prices as in the States. I'd venture a guess, that in by far the majority of the cases, you'd end up shocked and dismayed at what you'd have to pay for a rifle in other countries. There are a few exceptions, but even there it is extremely rare (if it ever occurs?) that prices in the US be higher than abroad. Good luck with your endeavour. - mike ********************* The rifle is a noble weapon... Any licensed U.S. dealer can do an "occasional" importation. From the dealers I know who've done it, the hassle on the U.S. end is minimal as long as it's not semiautomatic and not from Russia. The bigger hassle, as I understand it, is typically with the export papers on the other side. Due to various arms trafficking laws, even U.S. export regulations are more Byzantine than those for imports. John | |||
