My last two 141s were in .32 Remington and .35 Remington. Both were VERY capable deer guns. It was bone easy to get groups of 1.5 MOA with the iron sights from either of them, using handloads. As the vital zone of a deer at 100 yards is about 8 MOA, they are more than accurate enough for that distance and use. I also managed to get a wooden case (1,000 rounds) of factory Remington RN Corelokt ammo for the .32 'way back in 1963, and it shot at least as well. I think Mr. Pedersen's design is a great woods rifle, and am very sorry I ever sold either of them. (I still have a couple of the smaller similar version, the Model 25, in .32-20 chambering.) Edited to add: Prior to the Model 141s, I owned several Model 14s. I found them just as accurate and just as deadly on deer out to, say, 150 or even 200 yards. My country gal's just a moonshiner's daughter, but I love her still. | |||
