I have three newer Browning A-Bolts and the bolt is squared off and somewhat shiny.

Bought a used 300 Win Mag Browning A-Bolt and the bolt is fluted - I'm wondering if it's supposed to be fluted, and how old the rifle may be. It's stainless/composite stock.

Serial Number ###74NMLS7 . . . any help would be appreciated.

That is the A Bolt ONE... I have 3 that I bought in the early 90s for like $299.00 each on sale...

2 synthetic and one with a Wood Stock..

That is the way the bolt came from the factory...

I forgot why they modified it and called it the A Bolt Two...I have never had problems at all with any of mine...

I have one with a fluted bolt in 7RM. The most accurate factory rifle with no mods I've come across. It has a slow bbl, but with groups less than an inch at 200, I can live with thatSmiler
