Hi,

I have a 300 Ultra mag. and am thinking about buying a bipod for it. I was wondering if you have to do anything different to shoot it in prone position because it does have a pretty good kick to it.

Thanks

Dawg, I don't know how well this will relate but I used to shoot a .55 caliber anti-tank rifle in the prone. First I tried it on my shoulder snugged in up close to my neck. I could feel the bones crack and pop with each shot. Hurt like hell. I didn't shoot many that way.

Somehow it evolved that I would put the recoil pad OUT virtually on the top of my deltoid muscle. The recoil would shove me back about 3" in the dirt but it didn't hurt. I could shoot the thing all day out there.

Shooting lighter bullets will help you also but don't know what you're trying to do here.
