Sometimes I don't understand myself !!
The other day I missed several shots at pigs with my Remington BDL in 30-06.

I was so upset that I went to the range to check the scope and it was perfect, so the miss was my fault Roll Eyes

But I also took to the range my trusted 9,3 that I don't know why I have stop using it for a while...

The Kahles scope has been laying down under the truck seat for near a year, so I grab it, I attached it to the rifle with the Talley mounts and shot a couple of shots with a bunch of different bullets. The ammo I have were with different powders, different bullet weights, etc, etc.

It's increadile how the scope holds the zero one year after I took it from the rifle and how all shots were inside a small target at 100 metres despite being different reloads and different bullets.

I will throw the 30-06 away and I will return to my ol' noble and trusty mauser Wink

A cow buff that once I shot with it and one of those 286 round nose pills from PMP Wink

A pig

And my friend Mario use it to bag this old red stag.

He has provide me some good memories through the years...I don't know why I put it to rest during the last year.. bewildered

The reticle of that Kahles is a circle and a dot with thick cross hairs so it's not for accuracy, it's for night hunting mostly, because of that I don't see the center of the target correctly, I was just guessing where it was.

I am not to familiar with Kahles Riflescopes. I am wondering what that device is in the middel of the scope. It almost looks like an upside down weaver scope mount.

That's a pretty 9,3 that shoots very well!!!

Mine are junk by comparison (have a CZ American and "practical build" VZ.24) but they shoot so well I'd not be without them. Great chambering with terrific field performance.

(Thanks to Rick R for introducing me to the 9,3x62)

I have owned a couple of Blaser barrels in 9.3x62, and both are excellent shooters.

Lorenzo,
Great pix. It seems that with some rifles all you have to do it point them in the right direction and they will do the rest. Maybe that will be the case the next time when you take your 9.3 after hogs. Best of luck and keep us posted.

22WRF . If you take a good super bright flashlight ,rivet or screw a Weaver base on it and put an extre weaver ring on the scope you get a low cost ,quick change night light mount . Use the base from a model 700 front base and a D cell Mag light and the radius is already made for you ..
Kahles scopes are a division of Swarovski optic I believe .. Very good bright scopes . Tho plagued with the problem alot of very expensive European scopes suffer sometimes they are still very good scopes . And would be great ,as I,m sure Lorenzo would agree on a 9.3x62 ...

Lorenzo:

Just take those 250 grain Barnes TSX bullets in your 9.3X62 and stick with them. You can shoot them around 2500 fps and they penetrate like CRAZY!!

I was gonna say, the extra ring had to be alight mount, especially after the comment that the scope was for night hunting.

Gentlemen,

Indeed the scope ring with the base pointing up on the scope is for attach a night light for pig hunting.

I do that in all my scopes, I can put a light in seconds when night arrives.

Looks like this :

The rifle is a custom work. The action is an uruguayan 1910 mauser (similar to the argentinian but wider so you can put more cartdriges down in the magazine), the barrel is a Lothar Walther, open sights are NECG, the safety I think is also NECG and the baese and rings are Talley's.

The rifle in this last picture is a Remington BDL in 30-06 with the same set up for attaching a light to the scope.

I like that 9,3 of your's!!!

Remember that old adage "The man with only one rifle......."

Seems sometime we forget - I'm going to try to get all mine to the range and check'em!

My 9.3 shoots well enough too. It's me that's the problem. I didn't check my scope last season and missed a cow elk because the 2 screws that attach the rings to the receiver(CZ 550) had loosened up. They have now been treated with lock tite and tightened up. Hopefully problem solved.

Nice rifle. A bit off topic but what kind of tree is that pig hanging from? It has a interesting appearance.

Eucalypthus. There are several kinds of them. It seems that it was wet so the different colours were more noticeable.

They are continously loosing their "skin", that is the reason they loo like that.
