I know a gunsmith (who lives here in Nashville) that has been working on a similar project for CZ for a few months now.

This 'smith makes long range rifles (in one caliber only 300 Win Mag) for select government agencies, and also for civilians for long range hunting. The rifles start at $5000.

The CEO of CZ purchased one of his rifles, and after playing/hunting with it, asked him to see what he could do with one of their actions (actually, several).
The goal is to see if something similar could be done on a larger production scale.

I don't believe the final design is finished as yet. $2500 would be cheap if will do what it is supposed to.

AMERICAN SHOOTER TV show had a segment on this last night. From what I understood from the program, they are claiming 1 MOA at 600 yds. The gun will also be shipped with a scope already mounted on it. That, and the fact that the CZ rep said you need to find the right lot number of factory ammo, then go buy several hundred rounds, will get you the guarnteed accuracy. He went onto talk about some CNC machining they do when attaching the barrel to the action that "cannot be duplicated by a gunsmith using a four jaw chuck on a lathe." Not being a machinist, not sure if that is hype or truth.
Again, from what I gathered, and I could be wrong as it was on very late and I was very tired, is that you must use the scope supplied and factory ammo of a certain lot number (whichever your gun "likes" in order to have that degree of accuracy. They did not announce a price, as it apparently depends on what scope manufacturer they end up using.

WOW! The custom varmint in 6.5-284 looks to be an great offering. If it shoots anything like my 527 Varmint that would be a tack driver. Thanks for the link!
