Seen in UK a Winchester 54, serail 26276A with stainless steel 24" barrel and said to have "patent peep sight" and 'scope blocks. I thought that the correct mounting for the 'scope was to do so using the two screws on the rear side of the receiver where the peep sight blcok went?

Can I identify if this is a Super Grade, Etc. etc.?

Calibre is 270 which is why it interests me...a piece of firearms history!
