Welcome. They seem like a lot of money for what they are. Not saying bad, just easy to get the same performance in a diffferent package. If you get it let us know what you think. ______________________ Always remember you're unique, just like everyone else.

I have developed loads for several Lazzeroni Warbirds and one Firebird. Rifles included Lazzeroni, Sako, and custom built on Remington and Borden actions. Each of the rifles certainly were capable of shooting well, but depending upon weight and stock design, they can be a handful. I have witnessed several rifles that people bought to "shoot elk at 1000 yards," only to see the same rifle offered for sale within a couple of months. I can only conclude that the discomfort from the bench and the refusal to spend the time shooting to become proficient discouraged those who bought them. There are equally good, if not better, rifles that will accomplish the long range requirements for those that wish to pursue such activities; and there are other calibres that will do as much without excessive energy expenditure.

I'm not here to knock anyones choice of weapons . I also don't discourage long range shooting it sharpens ones skills or develops them . I how ever go on record in stating only " Morons "and the unskilled , attempt to shoot animals in excess of 600 Yd. .Even that is a 200 yd stretch IMO. Exception two legged game in harms way , the Humane part of killing is then without foundation . Perhaps if they worked on stalking skills a little more they would fair much much better in life's game . This was NOT aimed at any of you personally !. Welcome aboard Sarge 48 . I have a warbird built on a model 70 by Krieger about 10-15 years ago when they first came out. It has a 28" 1 in 14 twist barrel that has been carbon wrapped in a hs model 70 Larado stock with vias break. It shoots 180 grain nosler partitions into a 1/2" or less at 100 yards for 3 shot groups. This load has been cronoed many times at 3550 fps. It is 102.5 grains of RL25. I would have a smith build you a rifle other than Laz. Call Mark Bansner he has done alot of them and you get more for your money. I would for sure get at least a 28" barrel. A cut barrel from Krieger or Rock I feel is the only way to go on these big burners. After that it's up to you. I like my carbon wrapped barrels they act stiff but are much lighter.

I think you will enjoy your new rifle. But it is my opinion that the price is 40% rifle, 60% brand name, if indeed you are buying direct from Laz. As mentioned above, you can get into a "Laz. rifle" built by someone else that will be equal, but probably less expense to you, if that is even a concern. I have only talked with a few individuals that reside in Tucson that have shot some of his rifles and did not enjoy it. Ted Kennedy's car has killed more people than my guns
