I don't have a 300 win any more and its starting to bother me. I would like to get my hands on one. If i could find a CZ 550 medium or 550 american i would love it. A model 70 would be nice but i am not hung up on a particlar manufactuer. I would,nt turn my nose up at a ruger, or one of the new classic savages. I think the CDL remingtons ore nice looking rifles but I really prefer a CRF style action. Don't really like stainless steel but If the price was right ? Think i'll go to the gunshow next weekend and peek around. I Might wait till my tax return and order a barreld action from MRC and put in an accuracy inovations stock but I would be spending alot...tj3006...tj3006

Lots of choices now.

Winchester also will have all thier shadow rifles in 300 win mag this year ( super shadow, pro shadow, shadow elite) .

I bought my last 300 win on gunbroker. Mod 70 blued wood. Practically brand new for $400 .

Of course gunshows are good places to look for rugers.

Have you looked at the Weatherby Vanguard Sub-moa in matte blue finish.

Similar looks to the Mark V but a fraction of the price, not CRF I fear but reports indicate they work well and return excellent accuracy, I am in the U.K but have one on order hopefully for a Feb delivery.

I just bought a Sako Finnbear 300 Win Mag. Even if you pay a bit too much for them at first, the value will catch up in a few years, and in the meantime you have a smooth, pleasant rifle. Also, they come pretty accurate and require little in the way of bedding or triggerwork expenses.

I'm liking the looks of the Savage Classic. Waiting for one to show up here to see if it feels as good as it looks. No worries about it shooting as good as it looks.

I prefer those also and either CZ or Winchester would be my picks....

I picked up an almost new dakota M-97 hunter in .300 win on G A for not much more than you'd spend on a "name" brand rifle and the little devil is a shooter.

Hard to find cheap but just a thought.

I just recently picked up a 300 win mag Beretta Mato. Here is a picture of one in 338 win mag

http://www.gunsamerica.com/guns/976671028.htm

I bought mine from a friend for $800.00. Liked it so much I bought a 338 win mag in the same gun for another $800.00 from Stockersguns in Trumbull, Ohio. They might have another one.

Lothar Walthar barrel, Dakota 97 action, H S Precision full bedding block stock, and Shilen trigger. Discontinued now so they will only increase in value cause they are a very well made guns and real shooters.

my $.02
