Congratulations, Cordell; you got a fine firearm. The 9.3 barrels are made for the European market still though not offered here. The magazines I referred to had to be ordered from Germany through Sig USA and I bet they can get you a barrel, too. It won't be fast though, so be sure to get a early start for your hunt. Good luck.

My thought on that is don't fix something that ain't broke. This line of rifles is so accurate out-of-the-box that improvement is pretty much an uneeded.

Nice to see some 202 fans. I have a 202 with two barrels, 300 Win Mag and 7mm Rem Mag. I too look for different barrels, rare as hens teeth. My manual indicates I can get a 375 H&H for my magnum action gun and a 6.5 by ???. I contacted SigArms last year and tried to get them to consider adding a .257 Weatherby to the magnum line up. No dice, down right unfriendly about my comment too. I agree, it's a great gun for around $1500 (I bought mine new for cost +10% and paid $1125 three years ago). It's not in the $3000 class and if their current pricing holds they will loose whatever share of the North American market they have. Anyway, I just recently purchased a Ruger #1 in 25-06 (couldn't get Sauer to consider the 257 Weatherby) and I have been reading about people who bed the forestock to reduce barrel vibrations and improve accuracy. It occurred to me the same bedding considerations might be given to the 202 since the stock is in two pieces. Any thoughts on this. Any thoughts on any issue with the 202 are appreciated, like I said, it's nice to see another 202 fan. There is tons of information on this and other forums regarding Winchester, Remington, Marlin, Savage, etc, all the local manufacturers but nothing on Sauer's. I have to say I really like my 202. I hand load and for both the 300 and 7mm I can routinely hit bottle caps at 200 yards. I have noticed the barrel will walk (stringing whatever you want to call it) as it gets hot. I have pictures of consecutive shots that walk down and to the right for both barrels. The good news is the shots still touch one another and for a sporter type gun I have no complaints. I will admit I'm still learning about this gun and based on what I've learned so far I would recommend it to anyone. Not for $3000 of course but there are still a number of them advertised on Guns America for the pre-hiked price.

Hi tiggertate, I just went on Sig Arms USA's site and they do not list a 9.3X62 in any of the current models. I am going to give them a call on Monday and see what's up. I purchased the 200 Sauer in .270 that you and I were discussing on Gunsmithing and hopefully I will have it in a week or so. I paid a small fortune due to the fact it had the best wood on it I had seen out of all the 200's or 202's I had been looking at. If you would like to take a peek it can be viewed on Gunbroker.com item #25502951. If God is willing I will be heading to Zimbabwe late next year and I intend to take this rifle, with the two barrels mentioned. Take care and God bless. cordell

The 9.3x62 magazines sold for $55 last year directly from Sig Arms USA. I priced barrels at the same time for about $475.00, again from them. Either the dollar is doing a lot worse than I thought or Sig Arms has decided to discourage parts sales. I hope that that was just a greedy dealer and not the new price structure. You can find a used 270 or 30-06 and have it rebored and rechambered for a lot less than that.
