I have an instrumented 8x57, and have found that in my rifle, I get a safe 2750 fps with a 175 grain Sierra bullet, with 53 grains of Varget, CCI 200 primers, and 2.995" COL. Backing down to 52.3 grains of Varget only drops the fps to 2700, and drops the PSI by 2,000.
