Gentlemen I am in the final stages of buying a 300 Win.Mag and installing a break.I have recieved great advise on using a break in a responsible manner so I valaue your contributions.
I am buying a Rem.Sendero and what type of precision have your guys had with that set-up.
I have looked for a used rifle in this model, but they don't seem to be available, must be popular.
Marshall I have a 300 win mag sendero and have just finished working up loads to shoot the 220 Sierra Match Kings. I am pushing them close to 2800fps(2780) and consistantly shooting in the .2's at a hundred yards. This next coming weekend will shoot to 300 and 600 yards with this load. I also have had good luck with 168 Sierra MK's also. they too are in the .2's and lower and i am pushing those over 3200fps.

I do not have groups in the .2's, I also do not have a sendero. I have a remington 700 ADL in 300 win mag, and get groups in the .75's. I also have been using book loads and hunting bullets at that (180gr Nosler Partitions). I feel as though you should be able to get great results with your soon to be set-up.
I had a Mod. 700 ADL in a 7mm Mag. rebarreled to a 300 Win. Mag. My first 300 Mag. of any kind. Started loading for with a 165 gr. Nos. Bt.. With 80 Gr. RL22 I'm geting groups of right around 1". I'm happy wiht it. Get your 300 and enjoy!
Interesting - I am in the process of building a .300 WinMag. This cartridge has lost some of its appeal over the past few years because of all the competition - Dakota, UltraMags, Short Mags, and Lazzeroni. Sure you can gain a few more fps with some of the newer case designs, however, with a 180gr or 200gr bullet, the .300 WinMag is a proven performer. Do you really need the extra 100 fps possible with the UltraMag?.... probably not (unless you just like to burn lots more powder for the fun of it).

Marshall, my Sendero is a 7mm Rem mag, not a .300 but they're similar. I've got .4 - .5" 100 yard groups with Sierra 160 grain SPBT hunting bullets. The Sendero really is one heck of an accurate rifle. Because of the heavy barrel and good stock design I've never felt the need for a muzzle brake, however I'll admit that one reason I really like the 7mm mag is that it doesn't have much recoil.
Have hunted with and shot a number of .300 mags, and handload for one of my hunting buddies. The cartridge is great, lots of power and accuracy with widely available components and a wide variety of factory loads. Mine always shot best with 180 grain bullets at about 3000 fps, on paper and on game. Regards, Guy
