The G series Model 70 classic CRF began with serial number G15000. I've run across a NIB Super Grade, locally, with a serial number in the G152XX range for less than the cost of a new Portuguese SG. It is absolutely spotless, NIB, with all original paperwork. What can it be resold for, and is the action of any better quality than later production guns? I like the fact that it has no forend tip! Thanks

When you say "run across" I hope that means you bought it!

Gunbroker or Gunsamerica would be probably the best venue to sell it if thats your goal, and should get you the best price.

That being said, here is my experience with low serial numbered guns. I had picked up a Colt gold Cup, first year production 45. Serial number NM-1xx. No box or paperwork, finish about 95%+... I only got $1,600 for it.. from all the "expert" and "book" estimates that was a $5K gun..

So basically while it may be worth a little more than a later one, what you get for it isn't gonna change your life, and is more or less a crapshoot.

Best of luck to you.

I have not bought it. I would need to sell something first, and am weighing my options.

I'm sorry to say I have no real idea of the value as I've won in a raffle or bought at a steal all my SuperGrades.
Just curious what caliber you are looking at?
If I were in your shoes I'd use Gunbroker as an estimate.
I must admit I absolutely love my SuperGrades and also have a pile of M70's some pushfeeds and some CRF and I am over the top happy with every one of them.
If it's in your budget just buy it.

It's a 300 win. The price is $1000. I would be more interested if it were an O6'. I think I'm just going to pass.
