.270-243 Imp. Loads

Just i recive my new custom rifle on caliber .270-243 Imp. I had some loads from a 270 Redding but I wana know if some shooters have some experience with [Smile] these caliber.

Aya270, is this a .270 necked down to a 6mm? Or is it a .243 necked up to a .270? If its a 6mm-270, I think loads for a 6mm-06 would be a starting place. The starting loads at least. By the same token, if it is a .27-243, I would think the starting loads for a 7mm-08 or a .260 could be used.

These is a .243 case open to .277 and the shoulders improved to 40.

Some shooters tollme that the similar caliber is the .270 Redding

I have one, that I haven't had an opportunity to shoot yet. I received some load data from another AR member, which I will send to you by PM as soon as I find it.

Tell us about your rifle. Mine is a Savage 110 switch barrel setup, with a Shilen SS barrel. The dies are RCBS, marked "270/308 Ackley Improved 40 degree" [shoulder] which is basically the same as yours.
