The medium height will work for up to a 40 mm bell and the high will work on the 56 mm bell... But ,,if you shoot off hand in a heads up position and you like a small scope like a 1.5-5x leupold your thumb will fit under the scope and it makes lugging the rifle around much more comfortable

.If it can,t be grown , its gotta be mined ....

For factory Ruger rings, high are 1/8" taller than medium, medium are 1/8" taller than low.

I have a 44 mm scope set in ruger medium rings. I believe this is the largest objective it will accomadate. The scope has no adjustable objective, so I would guess the largest adjustable objective that would work would be a 40 mm.

The Leuopld VXIII 4.5 X 14 X 40 AO I have will not work with the factory size (Objective touches barrel) so I think I will either have to got to high rings or just keep my 3.5 X 10 X 40 VXIII on it as is.. thanks everyone.

I use high mounts on all my rifles for 2 reasons.
1. I am quite a big bloke so its suits me.
2. Make ideal carrying handles. Smiler
