Some may remember these Savage 116s made in 8x57 and 9.3x62 for "export only". A very few got misplaced and I bought one in 9.3x62. Since the stock was already orange, I dipped everything else too. (Scope shown has been replaced with a 4X Unertl Hawk) Finally got around to digging out my stash of DWM new brass and loading some serious loads up. As with most 9.3s it is a shooter (cast bullets as well). Thought I would share the results:

Would love to get my hands on one of those. I might take a can of OD green Krylon to the orange stock though.

Just find a beater 06, get a barrel from Shaw and a can of ugly green paint. Ungulates are color blind .... they'll never know the difference, nor will anyone else at the range. Another 9.3x62 that will evoke comment:

Sorry to hear of you mishap. Hope you kept it off the rug. Haggis puke makes a real mess I'll bet. Not much use for a 9.3 in "Clintonland", or "Cajun Pawn Stars" country, I suppose. The state you were grasping for is South Carolina. Figure out who made it ? What is cost ? How many were imported to the USA ? Your unimportance is noted.

My guess is a Merkel Sr1 but what do I know. $1200 would be a good guess.

Yes sir, you are obviously betting informed than "humberger". Designed for Boar hunting with three shots quick. The same loads will hold 1-1.25 MOA with it with a big picket post Trijicon. Very "German" and no lightweight but handles and points like a good shotgun.

Took the Savage up to the range as I have swapped the scope for a Burris 2-7 CH & Dot (Made in America). First group is the same 270/4064 Speer load, the second 286 gr cast bullet with a 4227/cornmeal load at 1800 fps. (both @ 100) Nice that the cast load land right under the jckted load.
