Anybody used a Winchester WRK-431 3 - 9 x 40mm telescope on a 7mm Rem Mag or any similar rifle?

Is it a good telescope to use in general?
Can it handle the recoil well?

Thanks for your feedback.

How much are you looking to spend?

There are far better scopes out there than that one. Some are moderately priced as well.

R2000 @ current forex rate it = ± US$300 - 350.

A friend of mine is using one for quite some time now and is very much impressed with it.

Is it worth spending more when doing biltong hunts only in South Africa mainly on medium sized game up to the occasional Eland hunt?

Jagter,

The Only Winchester Rifle scopes I've seen advertised, were much cheaper than that and appeared to be made by a cheap scope maker and had Winchester's name on them.

In that Price Range you could get a Much, Much better scope.

You could get a Nikon Monarch, a Burris FFII, Bushnell 4200, Nikon Buckmasters, or a Sightron SII. Those are all very good scopes and they are in your price range.

Take a look at this website:

http://www.theopticzone.com

They are very honest and friendly people.

I have a couple of Nikons that I may be willing to part w/ one of them. Shoot me a PM if you are interested.

Good Luck!

I don't think Winchester makes scopes so what your looking at is something that they put their name on,usally something cheap. I had a Bushnell Trophy on my 7mm RM used it one season a few years ago and it went to pieces on me. Sent it to Bushnell and they didn't back up the warrenty. For around $400 you can get a Zeiss Conquest at the website above.Which is what is on my 7 MAG great scope.
