Anyone have a CIP case drawing of the cartridge? I know it can be formed from .30-06 brass, but was looking for a cartridge drawing. Thanks!

Mike:

CIP has normalized the .318, which is listed here:

http://www.intermin.fi/intermi...e/URA+I++haku+02.pdf

But I don't seem to find the drawing here, which is strange indeed:

http://www.intermin.fi/intermi...A/$file/TABIIcal.pdf

I'll look again when I get time. Sorry can't help now.

Mike, Quality Cartridge makes very nice, properly headstamped brass for the .318, it is what I took to TZ. If you are coming to the Big Bore shoot and want some samples, let me know. I also have an L/W barrel in 318 turned to the Mauser Type F contour if you want to take a look at it, it is also very nice!

lee440,

Have you been happy with the performance of the LW twist rate in this caliber? I also chose an LW barrel instead of the Krieger but would be interested in your results with the 250-gr. Woodleighs. At the time, I was quite surprised to see that LW went with a 1-8.5" twist versus the 1-12", which I thought to be standard.

Thanks.

Pinotguy, I have yet to get started on this project . I used an original Vickers .318 w/250 Woodleighs on plains game with good sucess. I have the L/W barrel and a 1909 Argie action waiting for me to get started. Since I use 250's only, my guess would be that the faster twist won't hurt anything , but only time will tell! Lee.
