Have any of you guys tried these 210 grain projectiles on game in Africa?

And how have they shot on paper?

Yes, I have used them both on game and paper.

Both were excellent performance. Recovered two bullets from game and showed perfect expansion.

The are NOT for deep penetration like the A-Frame, but are fine for plains game, Elk or Moose, but I would not hunt Big Bears with them.

I used 73 gr of Rel 22 in my 338 Mag and seated the bullets .043 off the lands.

Remember, forgivness is easier to get than permission.

Terry,

Appreciate the feedback, thank you.

Swift is about to appoint a new distributor here in Australia, so will definitely give them a try then. thumb

Blair, fwiw, I've used the 180 grain Scirocco from my 30.06 on black bears. All pass throughs and drt.

It is a picky bullet, pure copper, pure lead, but when you find the sweet spot, they are very accurate.

good luck

Doc,

Thanks for that. thumb

I had heard they were picky............

Just have to get lucky, though with this 338 RUM of mine I won't have to try very hard Smiler

My father took the Scirroc I's to Africa in his custom 338/416 Remington 3 years ago. They performed flawlessly on all of the plains game he shot there, from Kudu, to Wildebeest, Impala, Blesbuck and then some. He recovered a couple. I don't recall the weights but I believe the weight retention was in the 70-80 percent range. I also used them extensively in my custom 338/378 Weatherby until they switched to the new Scirroc II's. As for the Scirocco II's... I'm sure they'll perform as well as the original... problem is neither he nor I can get them to shoot at all through either of our guns. The originals were one holers, but the new Scirocco II's don't shoot for squat. I've still got 3/4 of a box left of the 338 Scirroco II's that I hope I can get to shoot. Just bought two new types of powders I've never tried before to see if they'll make a difference.

If they'll shoot in your gun, I have no doubts you can count on them.
