Thanks for all the replys. I would have continued to use the 225 grain Nosler Petition but have had neck retention problems. I called Nosler and Sierra after measuring up the shank of the bullets and finding that they are both tapered. The Nosler rep stated that they changed the ojive slightly. This causes the neck to be expanded by the widest part of the bullet but once seated to 2.800" LOA the bullet is already way into the tapered section of the bullet. I did not have this problem before the last box I bought so anyone using this bullet in their SA Remington might check. I just put the bullet tip on some solid carpet and pushed and the bullet seated deeper into the case body. Lee will custom make a Factory Chrimp Die that will correct the problem. I met a guy shooting a 673 three weeks ago who was having the same problem and sent to Lee for the die...it worked fine. Bob

Of course I'm only speculating but the wound description sounds like a glancing blow? Maybe not quite enough angle to get any penetration but still quite a bit of shock transferred to the spine through the ribs.

rjm, I, too, have had the neck retention problems only I'm using the Barnes' 225gr TSX. I just ordered the Lee Factory Crimp for $25.00. Joe
