Just got done dialing my 7MM STW in and 3 shot group is .210 at 100 yards. I have a Kelby Kodiak action with a Shilen barrel and complete installation Stock done by McMillan and a Jewel trigger set at 2.5 lbs. I use 69.5 grains of Ram Shot and a 168 grain Berger VDL . Can't wait to see what this will do on some critters this Fall!

Sounds great. I have had excellent luck in my 700 sendero with 140 gr. accubonds. I've loaded some 168 gr berger vld's but have not had the chance to shoot them yet. Also hoping to nail some long range hogs this fall.

Hi Twilli, Do you have any info on the stw cartridge dimensions, or maybe a web address for a pictorial?, Steve.

Steve,

I don't know of a link for the cartridge dimensions, but if you are familiar with the 8mm Rem Mag, it is the same case, just necked down to 7mm. Or another way to look at it, take a 7mm Rem Mag and stretch the case from 2.500 inches to 2.850. Overall loaded length of the STW is 3.600 inches.

Hey Steve,

This should do the trick: 7mm STW Link

I love my 7 STW. Yes, it uses too much powder and shoots out barrels a bit quicker, but it is my go to rifle for long range open field hunting.

It's what the 7mm Rem Mag shoulda been. Wink

Quite a bit more gun than a 7-WSM.
