I don't mind the Icon rifle, I just hate the .30 T/C cartridge. I asked a couple of questions about this caliber from another forum member when he said it had better performance than the .30-06. While it does offer good figures at Hornady's web site they only offer it in 150 and 165 grains. If that is the only two weights that it can use, then it doesn't even come close to the grand old .30-06 in performance or the .308 for that matter.

I read as well in an article that with todays premium bullets the 150-165 grain bullets perform in the new .30 T/C just as well as regular 180's in the .30-06. I still like the idea of being able to hunt with heavier bullets, besides a premium 180 should out perform a premium 150-165 bullet if you use their train of thought. This cartridge does nothing for me, a polished turd is still a turd.
