On the Aus/NZ forum they are expecting the importation of Zavasta rifles under Beretta. Has anyone heard if they will be bringing them into the U.S.? I went onto the associated link for Zavasta and found a neat stainless synthetic in 9.3x62 for a foul weather mate for my CZ in the same caliber. I recently ordered my first Zavasta, the Rem 799 mini in 7.62x39 for some cheap shooting with Wolf's 154 gr. load. I recently had open heart surgery and haven't wanted to touch of any of my big bores. Gpopper

They were being imported as the Remington 798. I didn't know Zavasta jumped lables.

Remington's contract expired and wasn't renewed. USSG Inc (Owned by EAA Corp) is the current importer of Zastava rifles. Here's a link to their webpage: http://www.ussginc.com/index.html Jim "Life's hard; it's harder if you're stupid" John Wayne

If EAA wants to make sales in this country, they ought to import the whole Zavasta line or get the hell out of the way and let someone else. Gpopper

Zastava has been imported by 1. Interarms 2 Charles Daly 3. Remington 4. Midway 5. EAA You'd thing Zastava would like to import to someone reliable.....but maybe the problem is Zastava! I asked Potterfield what happened....he didn't reply! /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." Interarms was good with the Zastava Mark 10. Or should I say Inmarters was good with the Zavasta

Zastava & quality control are oxymorons. That is the problem! Doug Humbarger NRA Life member Tonkin Gulf Yacht Club 72'73. Yankee Station Try to look unimportant. Your enemy might be low on ammo.

Frank de Haas in "Bolt Action Rifles" wrote in 1971 that Herters, Inc. also imported the CZC Zastava in the mid 1960's. He also commented that QC was an issue then. Mainly poor fitting of the fire control group and final polishing. Maybe they should just sell the actions as kits that are finished except for final fit and polish and let us customize them.

Zastava will supply bare actions; Beretta Australia has some landing in their first shipment, this week. Dunno if the US agent will get 'em for you guys, though. Cheers, Doug
