Gents, Does anyone know who makes an aperture rear sight for my new CZ 550 FS? I hope to find one that mounts on the existing dovetail on the rear receiver bridge. I don't want to modify the gun if I don't have to, but I'm open to suggestions. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Live well.

Wow! Nobody makes an aperture sight for the CZ 550? Guess I'll have to make it myself. Weaver-style units will actually go on there. With a little modification, I think it can be made to fit perfectly. Anybody got any suggestions where to start? Maybe the XS (Ashley) Weaver-style backups. We'll see. Live well.

I had a smith drill and tap mine for the Weaver base that Ashley makes for the Remington 700. He put a Leupold base on the receiver ring. Now I have good peep sights that don't fold and rings that return to zero. The scope sits higher than I like, but I use irons most of the time anyway. You can also use the Ashley sight made for a Ruger, but you have to drill and tap the bridge and there is no way to scope it after that unless you go with a Scout scope. Hope this helps, Okie John.
