Ok I want to know who owns one? How it shoots? are you able to get the accuracy advertised? are you able to get the published velocity advertised? Also in particular I'm looking into the Sako TRGS model. Would I be better off with a 7mmRum? Thanks for any info

Hey !!
The 7.21 Firebird are the most powerful of the 7 mm cartridges. I think the 7 mmRUM comes very close regarding performance. I do think it would be difficult trying to cope with the ballistics of the Lazzeronis line of fabrique ammunition. One must remember that John uses lubricated bullets as if to achieve most out of his cartridges. I imagine they use complicated load techniques to get such impressive numbers !
I'm not sure,,but i think Firebird achieved 3700 fps with a 150 gr. bullet of unknown type !

F,ex i think it's strange Lazzeronis .475 Bibamufu cartridge will do 2700 easily with 500 grain bullets, even if the .460 Wby has a clear advantage in case capacity, and are .458 dia.
John said this cartridge would do 2800 fps as max with those 500 Barnes X .475 dia. !?I have seen case comparisons and shows again clearly how larger the .460 case is,,even the differences is'nt quite so dramatic as it sounds.
But i have asked the same question after e-mailing with John himself and the impressive numbers on their homesite www.Lazzeroni.com.
Are this ballistics just " for -showing-we-are-the-fastest-most-powerful ",,or do they cope with reality ?! [Eek!] [Confused]

I believe that Lazzeroni uses bullets that are both coated and slightly smaller in diameter then normal, which is one of the ways that they get the speed up. The other is that they use very strong brass and load to high pressures. The best quoted ballistics I've seen for the 7mm Lazzeroni was 3500 fps with a 140 gr bullet. That's smokin', and if he can get it going faster, well more power to him I guess. I believe it all boils down to pressure, how much do you want/need/can you stand. - Dan
