That is a very easy comment to agree with. It is really neat that we have such people to learn from.

I really enjoy Ray's posts.

Lots of experience, years of knowledge willingly shared, and as the above poster already mentioned, kind. And I would add, a gentleman to boot.

Thanks Ray! beer

Very much agree, but wish he'd record his experiences in a book (or several).

Great idea. I personally would love to see a short stories adventure book of Ray's exploits ;hunts, individual kills, rifle and bullet performance on various game, misadventures, and SNAFUs etc. etc. etc..

I also would like to thank Ray Atkinson for everything he contributes to this forum. In fact I went looking for his posts when I came across this post. He and a few others add the voice of real common sense and experience. Thank you Mr. Atkinson.

As all of us are students of the gun or hunts. Obviously fueled by our passion and desire for it or we wouldn't be here.

Ray's knowledge and experience abounds. I am most grateful for his willingness to share particulars of his adventures good or bad, straight forward with no bull.
Thank you
Charles

Thanks as well, to Ray and many of the other experienced AR members. Would not have had some great adventures if it was not for Ray and the rest of the AR crew sharing knowledge.

Thanks Ray,
There are very few people with the experience in the hunting field along with the gun building knowledge you have left around. You should write a book. I know with what I have read in you post it would be great. Hell no one acknowledged John Taylor's insight until after he was dead.

And I will add to all the above that I consider Ray a friend, after he had arranged two safaris for us, and shared two hunts with us.

He was a pleasure to deal with, very honest and straightforward in all his dealings with me.

Thank you my friend.

Despite the apotheosis of this thread, Ray, I hope you are not leaving us yet.

Steven is right: you should write a book. We need a new Elmer Keith and I think you would be a good candidate. My mother wrote one at your age and not only was it her greatest achievement but seeing it through kept her going for years.

Ray Atkinson is the consummate gentleman.

When I, a complete stranger, contacted him for his knowledge regarding the 9.3x64mm cartridge, with which he has considerable experience, he was extremely generous and courteous with his reply's which helped me no end.
I will fore-ever be grateful.
Thanks Ray tu2

Sadly, Ray failed to rope Walter, despite several tries.

We were hoping he would rope Walter, so we could tie him up for the hyaena sat night.

Walter, however, managed to evade every throw of Ray's rope! beer
