Picked up my new 404 Sauer in 308 Win. from Tip Burns at Blaser USA in San Antonio, Texas.
A lot of adjustable items on the rifle. Change barrels, bolt heads, Trigger position, Trigger pull, drop box magazine. Quick disconnect scope mounts. I'm taking the barrel out to the shop at the end of the month to get it threaded for a suppressor. Sweet rifle!

Fist shot out of the box bored sighted was left. Adjusted and next 4 together at 50 yards. Top group at 100 yards. big ragged hole has 5 rounds through it.
44 grains of Norma 203B, Federal Match primers 150 grain Nosler Hunting BT.

Rusty, I've got that one on my radar. It has the traditional look, but with the best of the innovations from the Blaser design.

Biebs,
A rifle like the 404 Sauer or the Mauser M 03 make the most sense to me. Especially with the 404, you get a rifle you can customize for you and you don't have to wait one to two years on something to shoot. At my age that's a chunk of whatever time I have left.
It's a great system, accurate Out-of- the - box. And you can add to it at your convenience! Yes you do have to buy their stuff, but that has always been of the highest quality!

Nice. I’ve always liked the Sauer platform. And good shooting!

I am torn between the R8 success and the 404 Synchro.

I have handled both, and like the 404 much better though it has horrible reviews here in Germany.

I can get either one for 2000 Euros as long as I buy it before July. Then I have to pay another 20 percent.

Frankonia offers new graduates of the hunting license course a 20% off and I get 19% off for being with defense over here. Makes it a great price.

Still not sure what I want.

Great rifle Rusty. Hope you get to take some game with that one. The Sauers may be the finest rifles ever built.

Excellent gun.

I spent time in 404, m03 and blaser r8 and went with the blaser.

All three are excellent platform guns.

Tim and the whole blaser/Mauser/sauer team are awesome.

Congrats Rusty. The 404 is an incredible platform. I love the fact that the rifle can be completely disassembled with the take down tool in the front swivel. The trigger pull is adjustable with the same tool from a low of around .7 lbs to just over 2 lbs. Then pull the sling swivels and use them as the carry strap on the case. Amazingly well thought out rifle. Wish it came in a wider selection of barrels . . . but .243 to .404 ain’t bad.

Any idea why Blaser is so much more popular in Germany compared to Sauer or Mauser?

Looks nice but with prices starting at over 4000.00 US and barrels at over 1000.00 US.

I well just buy more individual rifles in the calibers I want.
